EVERGENCES / INVESTMENT CASE

AI ROI Calculator

Artistic interpretation of an ancient calculating mechanism with bronze gears and a subtle evergences maker’s mark.
Methodology & limitations

Time is not automatically cash.

Monthly hours saved = volume × adoption × (baseline minutes − AI minutes, including review and rework) ÷ 60. Negative hours mean added workload. Only positive hours can be allocated.

Cash savings = positive hours × cash allocation × avoidable hourly cash cost. A loaded salary rate only shows a separate capacity-equivalent value; it never enters cash benefit.

Growth needs time and demand.

Extra units = the lesser of delivery capacity and your additional demand cap. Contribution per unit is after variable delivery costs, not revenue. Cash and growth allocations cannot exceed 100% of the same hours. Unused growth time returns to retained capacity.

Costs are project-level. Ramp is applied before each monthly demand cap. Payback is the first accumulated-cash crossing, assuming uniform accrual within each month. A simple steady-state comparison ignores ramp and is labeled separately.

This is an illustrative, undiscounted planning model, not a forecast or investment recommendation. It excludes tax, financing, staged implementation spend and any unentered costs. Negative saved time is shown as workload, with no assumed additional paid-labor charge. Enter that cash cost explicitly if applicable. Validate adoption, demand, avoidable spend and operating ownership before committing budget. Scenarios are alternatives, not additive benefits.

Projected cash benefit / total cost divides gross modeled cash benefit by implementation plus all operating costs over the selected horizon. It is not net ROI, MOIC or a guaranteed return. Capacity is excluded; zero cost makes the multiple undefined.

Guide & safeguards

A faster workflow is useful. It becomes cash savings only when spending actually changes. Track the original business case against what happened—without counting the same benefit twice.

  1. Fix the baseline
  2. Record what changed
  3. Separate cash from capacity
  4. Review the evidence

“Realized” here means recorded by you with a dated evidence reference. It is not an independent audit. Forecasts, signed terms, cost avoidance and retained capacity remain separate.
